Also known as sea-lavender, statice, or marsh-rosemary, the caspia is a floral variety that is available through the year and is unrelated to the above floral varieties despite its common names. Its botanical name limonium bellidfolium is derived from the Greek word leimon, which means meadow — where the caspia is commonly found. It is native to Europe and Asia, and is lovely to work with in a bouquet or centrepiece because it is hardy, dries well and creates movement and structure.
