Native to Singapore, the mokara orchid is a result of cross-breeding the ascocentrum, arachnis and the vanda orchid. It was created and presented to the floral community in Singapore in 1969. It loves a humid environment, the plant produces flowers well in this climate and is a hardy plant great for any beginner plant-lover. As a flower, it has a broad spectrum of colours and makes a strong centrepiece when single colours are grouped together.
