This seasonal flower is a miniature ball of delicate blooms also known as the guelder rose, cultivated mostly as an ornamental plant for its flowers and fruits. As a cut flower, its globular flower heads on bouncy stems add a cheerful spring to any arrangement. Often mistaken for a mini-hydrangea, it shares the same water-hungry characteristic because of their woody stems, therefore water levels in vases must be high. You may also hydrate this flower by spraying at the blooms.
Always keep the viburnum snowball in a cool environment and ensure it is very well hydrated. Poorly hydrated blooms are not bouncy and droop. Basic care includes changing the water in the vase and snipping the ends of the stems daily. This flower cannot be dried but with good care it can last up to 7 days.
Single variety flowers come wrapped in brown paper with a water bag. This ensures sufficient hydration for the flowers so that they remain fresh between the time it is put together and when the recipient receives it.
Here are the number of stalks you will find in each size:
Small — 6 stalks
Standard — 12 stalks
Large — 20 stalks
The viburnum snowball is a tall-stemmed variety, ideal for entrance tables, console tables and bar top centrepieces.
