According to the National Chrysanthemum society, there are 13 classes of chrysanthemums in varying flower forms, and this chrysanthemum mum is defined as a mum with an irregular incurve. This means the petals (also known as florets) are loosely curved inwards and upwards, folding into the center of the plant. The lower petals on the flower fall irregularly downwards, creating a skirted effect on the blooms. This variety of mums are considered the giants of the chrysanthemum world.
With the basic care of providing fresh water and snipping the ends of the stems daily, these blooms can last you up till 2 weeks.
Single variety flowers come wrapped in brown paper with a water bag. This ensures sufficient hydration for the flowers so that they remain fresh between the time it is put together and when the recipient receives it.
Here are the number of stalks you will find in each size:
Standard — 15 stalks
Large — 25 stalks
The chrysanthemum mum is a medium-stemmed to tall-stemmed variety, ideal for dining tables, entrance tables, console tables and bar top centrepieces.
