Our inaugural class for 2019 is a collaborative workshop with local ceramic-maker, ves.studio. As part of our Spring Collection, lead ceramicist, Jeanette Wee, has created a ceramic vase with a simple silhouette designed for use in the home. Each piece was exclusively hand thrown for us and glazed in unique pastel colourways. Each participant of the workshop will take home and work with this ceramic vessel in creating their flower arrangement.
The two-hour session is intended to be an exploration of the artisanal craft of pottery followed by an inspired hands-on experience of designing a floral centrepiece for the home.
On arrival, you will be taken by Jeanette on a tour of the ves.studio production facility where ceramic wares are hand-built, glazed and fired. Afterwhich the floral class will commence, teaching techniques to create a floral arrangement that is spacious and refreshing without the use of floral foam, where individual floral stalks and blooms have the opportunity to be seen and admired. These techniques are intended to be replicated at home easily and regularly, in the hope that participants may continue to enjoy the ves.studio vase well after the conclusion of the workshop.
